What can you expect from a session with me?

Whether or not you’ve been to therapy before, I want to make sure you feel comfortable and know what to expect. Coming to counselling is a brave step on your journey, and like a journey, there may be a few bumps, twists and turns. This is to be expected as you learn new ways of being and moving in the world. As a trained therapist, I will help you set goals, learn how to regulate, add new tools to your toolbox, and help you learn to cope effectively. I will come alongside you in your journey. The road can be unpredictable. You do not have to face it alone

You will find my office at 209-161 Stafford Street. The office is on the second floor of Grosvenor Court, a red-brick Heritage building built in 1909. Many of the original features of the building remain. My office is on the second floor, Room 209. It is warm, inviting and cozy. It is important to me that you feel comfortable and safe as you begin your healing journey.

We will meet for 50 minutes. At our first meeting, I will review my consent form with you, answer any questions or concerns, discuss your goals, and begin to understand how you arrived here and where you want to go.  I welcome any questions you may have at any time in our counselling journey.  I want you to have all the information you need to feel safe and confident in the approach we are taking.
